Chapter 8 Mt Edith and Mt Louis:
-
- p.210 Spectangular Megafauna: Dave Thomson's multi-pitch sport route has seen a number of repeat ascents and has been described as "sustained, engaging, tons of fun, and slightly sadistic in the way that sharp, vertical, friction climbing is on limestone". No bolts are missing from the last pitch (as was suggested in the guidebook) but on the rappel descent, a single 70 m rope is not sufficient to safely reach station 4 from station 5. The rappel appears to be closer to 38 m in length and one solution, other than bringing two ropes or an 80 m rope, would be to fix a long sling or chain at the upper station (#5). Alternatively, an intermediate rappel station could be installed. Please report any updates.
